I remember why I hate sleeping

I took a nap today
and I had a dream

I was little and me and my brother were playing in the snow
It was pristine and untouched, no one had every stepped in it
and it was as far as the eye could see
There were other kids there too
and I was so happy
Then there was a bonfire
And I turned and saw two girls stepping in it
like they had just got caught in it
one was older, and one was younger and so small
Everyone was yelling for them to get out
But they were confused and the older one escaped from the flames
and the younger didn't
and suddenly it was just me and conor
we piled snow on the fire and finally she was all that was left
she was still alive and so small so we started covering her in snow
because she was burned so bad
then it changed
and we were at my elementary school and it was a hot summer day
and there was snow but still around us
and I was piling snow on her
and her eyes went glassy
my brother said she wasn't dead
but I don't know because I woke up
